Canadian comic book artist John Byrne has worked on most of the biggest comic book characters out there. His runs as artist and often writer on such titles as 'Fantastic Four' and the 'X-men' are iconic.
Like Kirby, Byrne work has real energy and movement to it. He can even make a conversation between two characters exciting to read because he understands the 'language' of comics like few others in the profession.
He's knows how to make the action flow and he never short changes you when it comes to effort. If the page needs ten panels to tell that part of the story right then it gets all ten panels. He is a also a master of design when it comes to covers or splash pages.
I would love to see him return to a book like 'Alpha Flight'. He had much to do with the success of that title chronicling the adventures of Canada's premier superheroes. Visually, they just look so cool and you have to admit that Gaurdians's suit is a fantastic design.
