My Christmas Ennui - Buying Yourself Presents

It's the only way to insure that you get what you want. I have been looking for this tome to go on sale and what do you know, Costco had it for 25 dollars - Canadian. That's as good as 400 rolls of toilet paper for ten buck. I just wish I could buy ONE burrito instead if the family pack of 24 because I don't want to do TEX-Mex everyday of the month.

Hey, it's what I have to do most of the time at Christmas.. I just bought a Marvel Masterworks (hardcover) of the Avengers Silver/Bronze years, my first of the hardcovers. Looks so nice, came in last week, that I wrapped it up and stuck it under the tree.

Still payin' off the new driveway, my wife's not spending too much this year, so I'm just wrappin'/stickin' the nicest items I get off eBay in the last few weeks under the tree.

Y'know, it works just lovely come X-Mas morning.

I got this way cheap through the book club and read it cover-to-cover this past year. GREAT book!

I would love this book! Thanks! I didn't even know it existed.

Love these books, but like the Marvel ones, the pages of stuff after the 70s is wasted paper.

I'm more a Bronze/Silver Age purest.

I love that after all these decades they can still go totally off the rails with many of their big 'events'. For every 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' there is a 'Bloodlines'.
